Miss Oregon Scholarship Organization Announces Fitness is Back and Better Than Ever

Portland, OR - The Miss Oregon Scholarship Organization is proud to announce that fitness is making a comeback as a key component of the Miss America Opportunity. After a three-year hiatus, the Miss America Organization has decided to bring back the focus on health and wellness with a new partner: The American Heart Association.

In keeping with the new focus on health and wellness, contestants will not be wearing the traditional swimsuits and heels but instead will be dressed in athletic wear while promoting healthy lifestyles. This new change is part of the organization's rebranding, which also includes bringing back the iconic crown and emphasizing five key points: Service, Style, Scholarship, Success, and Sisterhood.

Miss Oregon 2022, Sophia Takla, was a top 10 finalist at Miss America and is excited about the changes that are being made. "Health isn’t a shape or size, but a lifestyle.
